The Story of Fester Cat by Paul Magrs is written from Fester's perspective. He came as a skinny stray, covered in flea bites and missing all but one and a half of his teeth. Paul and his partner Jeremy took this desperate kitty in, but it was Fester who wound up helping Paul and Jeremy. If you are at all homophobic, this may not be the book for you, but if you believe that people's personal lives is their own business and that God hasn't died and left any of us in charge, you will probably love this book as I did. Fester turned Paul and Jeremy's quaint house in Manchester, UK into a true home and he taught them both a lot - about commitment, about flexibility, about learning to appreciate the simply joys of each moment. Fester taught Paul and Jeremy how to sing with his great purring. He also taught them how to deal with hardship, financial problems and relationship stresses. This true story is so warm because Fester, himself, helped Paul write it. You will fall in love with Fester and his cute, black button nose. Not a sad book, but a book about learning to simply trust, as Fester did Paul and Jeremy. During the course of seven years Fester, with his purrs and his unique presence, turned these two young men into the family he and they needed. I'll be honest - you'll need a tissue or two, but this book is an honest look at the lives of two young men seen through the eyes of the cat whom they saved, but who ultimately saved them.
Available on Amazon, Kindle, or in used book stores. As anyone who reads these book reviews knows, this reviewer is partial to British authors. Fester does not disappoint. Go ahead, find this wonderful book and read it. You'll be richer for having done so!
Hope I've provided all the info you need. I have at least four more cat books before I have to start looking for more. I really enjoy writing the book review. Not sure if anyone reads it, but since I love books it is a delight to write about ones I especially love.
LFFAC adventures, stories and maybe even a cute cat video every now & then.
