Many of you may remember Panther the big black cat who spent several months living in the parking lot at Walmart in Longmont. We have a happy update on his progress.
After we trapped Panther it seemed he wasn't adjusting to life indoors in foster care. He was hissy and growly and had no interest in being petted. We decided he might be happiest back outside in a colony. We took him to join Chewie and the other kitties at Dynasty's colony. At first we thought he had joined the group and was happy to be there. He was seen eating with the other cats and hanging around.
But then a few weeks later we got a call from the Longmont Humane Society with the news that someone had trapped him in the Walmart parking lot! Yes, microchips work. So we picked him up and back to foster care he went. The second time around he met a lovely black feral from Joey's colony named Moonlight who had recently had her eye removed and was keeping a very low profile. The two bonded and we took them both to a long term foster home where they have lots of room, and a nice catio to hang out.
Panther is getting more friendly every day, and even had some lap time this past week with a couple of our volunteers who he decided could be trusted. He is a beauty to behold, and has a tiny little meow when he asks for treats.
LFFAC adventures, stories and maybe even a cute cat video every now & then.
