How You Can Help - Volunteer
We are an all volunteer based organization. We need you!
Here are some samples of our volunteer opportunities:
Trapping cats, transporting cats to the spay/neuter clinic, recovery of spayed/neutered cats, releasing of spayed/neutered cats back to their outdoor homes.
We need a trapping coordinator who is outgoing and enjoys working with the public. They will return calls to people who are seeking help with trapping. They will discuss with the caller what they need help with, will determine if LFFAC can help and will then assign the project to a trapper to complete. The coordinator will make sure that the caller is contacted within a reasonable amount of time after the initial call is made, and will follow up to make sure that the job is completed.
Providing food and water for the cats at their colony locations. Handy people to build shelters and feeding stations.
Events coordinator. Wo(man) tables. Set up/take down. Develop calendar of events/community opportunities. Special event performers, food vendors, etc.
Newsletter. Editor. Researcher for topics and to solicit articles. Grant writing.
Develop needed educational materials. Speakers/Educators. Research educational opportunities. Put together educational materials for special events.
Research and utilize ways to attract volunteers. Help volunteers to find jobs that fit the needs of both LFFAC and each volunteer and to help him/her to connect with other volunteers for a shared LFFAC experience.
