What better way to start off a new year than with Homer, the Blind Wondercat. This most recent book by Gwen Cooper is Homer, The Ninth Life of a Blind Wondercat. You might as well be prepared up front, have a box of tissues handy, because this is not an easy book to read. It isn't all a downer, by any means, but it has couple of really sad spots. I love Gwen Cooper's writing and it is fitting that she should write about Homer's last years and last days. She also tells us about two kittens she and her husband adopted after Homer crossed the Bridge. We all die, and Homer was no exception. Any of us who have ever loved a cat or dog or any other animal deeply and felt that that animal was our "soul mate" will relate to the agony Gwen experienced at Homer's passing. But Homer's passing did not go unnoticed. Far from it. Read about the responses Gwen received from all over the world after Homer left this life. You, like Gwen, will be comforted. And also read about the two kittens who Gwen and her husband Laurence now have. This book is sad, but it isn't a downer. It is just the final chapter in the life of an exceptional cat and his wonderful human. It is brand new, available on Kindle, or Amazon, or in bookstores. I wouldn't have missed it for the world!
LFFAC adventures, stories and maybe even a cute cat video every now & then.
